The difference between UNGER telescopic poles - 3 variants to choose from

Der Unterschied der UNGER Teleskopstangen - 3 Varianten zur Auswahl

David |

UNGER offers 3 different telescopic poles for cleaning glass. The differences are sometimes difficult to see at first glance. We'll explain. In principle, all 3 telescopic poles serve their purpose: cleaning windows at different heights. But there are also different requirements in the area of professional glass cleaning, which is why there are also different telescopic poles.

Let's start with the simple UniTec telescopic pole

This telescopic rod is ideal for quick use - because unlike the OptiLoc or TelePlus version, the two rod elements are twisted into one another. This has the advantage that you can adjust the different lengths very quickly and you don't have to screw the "union nut" back on every time. At the same time, however, there is also a small disadvantage, because the attachment is not as stable as with the other two telescopic rods. This means that it can easily come loose during longer and more demanding work.
The UniTec telescopic pole has a simple cone (you will find an explanation of the cone below). The material (aluminum) is identical, but slightly thinner.

The OptiLoc telescopic rod

The classic telescopic pole when it comes to all glass cleaning work. The different elements (2 or 3 parts) are attached with a special union nut . This has the advantage that the poles do not slip even during demanding work. The material (aluminum) is thicker than the UniTec version. In general, OptiLoc poles can reach a length of up to 9 meters. This length also requires greater stability, which is ensured by the thicker aluminum elements. The OptiLoc poles have a safety cone.

Last but not least: The TelePlus telescopic pole:

The TelePlus pole is essentially identical to the OptiLoc, but the lower handle is a little thinner. There is a very important reason for this. The TelePlus pole can be extended at a later date. This requires special PLUS extensions, which are simply attached at the bottom. All other poles cannot be changed in their maximum length. The safety cone is also located on the TelePlus pole.
The TelePlus version has another advantage. The 1.25 m version in particular is easier to transport because it has many small elements.

The cone

ErgoTec safety cone

The safety cone has the advantage that you can protect ErgoTec tools from falling if you are working with them. A special (black) clip holds the ErgoTec tools in place. This means you can easily work "overhead".

UNGER tool cone

The tool cone offers a simple way to attach all glass cleaning tools - but does not protect them from falling down. The tools (window wipers, etc.) are simply attached in a conical manner.

Did you know? Every cone fits on every telescopic pole. This means you can also attach the high-quality ErgoTec safety cone to the UniTec telescopic pole. You can buy this cone separately as an accessory.
