When you hear the word disinfectant, what do you think of first? Do the keywords hospital, bacteria, hands and blue come to mind? Then you're sure to see this bluish disinfectant bottle.

Most germs and bacteria are transmitted via the hands. Up to 90% of all germs accumulate under the fingernails, on the fingertips and on the palms of our hands. To minimize the risk of transmission, it is particularly important to disinfect your hands regularly. This is particularly important in areas where hygiene is important, including healthcare, industry and home care! Particular attention is paid to hygienic and surgical hand disinfection. But it can also be useful in private households, for example when traveling or in the case of a contagious disease.

The excellent skin compatibility is the most important thing, because who wants to use a product that makes the skin dry or even cracked? Since hospital staff or surgeons, for example, have to disinfect their hands several times a day, their hands are particularly stressed. But Sterillium® manages to disinfect and care for your hands at the same time. Studies have found that frequent use of Sterillium® actually increases skin moisture. The care component consists of glycerin and 1-tetradecanol. The former acts as a moisturizer and the latter has a refatting effect. The alcohols contained evaporate quickly during use, leaving the care components behind.

Since hand disinfectants are considered medicinal products, their effectiveness is of course tested according to the EN 12791 standard. This means that they must be approved by the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices. One result of the test also shows that in 200 tests the germ density drops immediately after use. Sterillium® is approved according to BfArM approval number 603.00.01 and is also listed on the following lists: VAH, IHO virucidal list, RKI list area A and area limited virucidal. It is also bactericidal, levurocidal, tuberculocidal, mycobactericidal, limited virucidal and against adenoviruses, polyomaviruses and rotaviruses.

How is Sterillium® used?

Using Sterillium® is very simple, quick and efficient. This disinfectant is applied to dry skin. Use the dispenser to pour it into your cupped hand. Now rub your hands and forearms for at least 30 seconds. For surgical hand disinfection, the rubbing time is always at least 1.5 minutes. Always make sure that your arms and hands are always moist. The fingertips and thumbs in particular should be treated very intensively, as, as mentioned above, these are where the most germs are found. However, the exposure time can vary depending on bacteria, viruses and fungi and is as follows:
