When is the right time to clean the windows?
There is nothing worse in spring than looking through windows covered in pollen, which is also accentuated by the sun's rays. Now in May, pollen levels are at their highest. Is the end of May the right time to clean the windows? On the one hand, yes, because at the end of May the trees are slowly coming to an end. On the other hand, the grasses are starting to bloom, but the grass pollen is less dirty. The windows can be cleaned every now and then to avoid a thick layer of pollen forming. However, a major window cleaning should therefore be done at the end of May .
How to get sparkling windows
First of all, the coarse and loose dirt, pollen and dust must be removed. This can be done with a broom or feather duster. More stubborn dirt can be carefully removed with a scraper. Once the coarsest dirt has been removed, the window cleaner and glass cleaner come into play. The classic cleaner used here is lukewarm water mixed with glass cleaner or washing-up liquid , or alternatively a dash of vinegar essence or clear vinegar can be added. Soft sponges and cloths are ideal for cleaning. A leather cloth is suitable for drying to avoid streaks and marks . It's that easy to get sparkling windows! If you don't have the equipment, you can find a glass cleaning starter kit in our shop and you can get started right away!
How to get your car free of pollen again
To prevent pollen deposits, you can wash your car before spring to prevent pollen from sticking and make it easier to remove. However, pollen deposits cannot be avoided. It is important not to use the windshield wipers, especially if they still have antifreeze in them from the winter. You may end up with a smeared view rather than a clear view.
Best results from the car wash
In fact, you will get the best results from a car wash, but you can of course also clean your car at home. However, please note that cleaning your car with a sponge and bucket is not permitted in some cases and can result in fines. To avoid streaks, you should not start with a rag or sponge. We therefore recommend going to a self-service car wash and using a high-pressure cleaner first. Here you can rinse off the pollen quickly and easily. Water is often enough to remove the annoying pollen. It is advisable to wash your car every 14 days in spring. Pollen is not as aggressive as bird droppings, but it can still damage the paintwork over time.
