It makes sense to introduce the well-known 4-colour system , both in the home and in the workplace. It has the advantage that a higher standard of hygiene is achieved and bacteria from the sanitary area cannot, for example, find their way to other furnishings via cloths or sponges . The 4-colour system has been established from the three primary colours red, yellow and blue, plus the colour green.
4-color system for hygienic cleanliness
The colors are so different that confusion is almost impossible. During use, the different areas must be assigned a color and it must be ensured that mops , cloths, sponges or other cleaning items are provided for each area.
Possible classification of colors
As a rule, red is chosen for sanitary areas. In this case, it serves as a signal color, as the sanitary area has particularly high hygiene requirements. Of course, you can also choose a different combination of colors or use a 5-color system if you want to divide it into several areas. When making your selection, you have to decide for yourself how many colors and which colors you want to work with. The standard version looks like this:
Red : (as a signal colour) for the area where special attention is paid to cleaning, the toilet, the urinal and the surrounding floor area
Yellow : is also used in the bathroom, but for areas such as the bathtub, shower cubicles, fittings, shelves, tiles and the sink
Blue : is usually used for everyday objects such as furniture, cabinets, mirrors, chairs, shelves, doors, window sills, desks, heating or similar
Green : is then for the remaining areas e.g. the kitchen, floor coverings, glazing and for general cleaning work
Establish a specific color for each room
The 4-colour system largely eliminates the risk that if you, for example, use a cloth to clean the sanitary area, you will carelessly use the same cloth again to clean a public area.
However, this is not enough. If you have several toilets in your company or home, it is essential that you only use one cloth for each toilet and clean it immediately after cleaning. This will prevent germs from being transferred from one toilet to another (changing cloth method).
