What exactly are essential oils?

Applications of essential oils

The range of applications for essential oils is very broad. If the essential oil is mixed with a so-called base oil, such as jojoba oil, almond oil or sesame oil, it can be used as a natural body and massage oil . There are countless recipes for homemade massage oils. Furthermore, essential oils mixed with a little alcohol can be used as a room spray or neat as a perfume . A few drops can also be added to cold/hot compresses for sore joints and tense muscles. As already mentioned, essential oils can also treat a variety of health problems . Depending on the health problem, a certain oil can provide relief. For example, a rose bath can relieve anxiety and antispasmodic essential oils can help with pain.

Essential oils for the sauna

Last but not least, essential oils can also be used in the sauna as aromatherapy. Aromatherapy can prevent infections, alleviate certain complaints and illnesses or generally improve individual well-being . It is important to find out beforehand what effect the different oils have. Aromatherapy can be used in the classic Finnish sauna, steam sauna and infrared sauna. In the Finnish sauna and steam sauna, the essential oil is added via the sauna infusion and in the infrared sauna with the help of the fragrance dispensers and fragrance nebulizers provided.
